About This Coffee
This Grade 1 Ethiopian comes from the Mesfin Girma producer within the Oromia region of Ethiopia.
Wush Wush is one of Ethiopia’s most prized and rare coffee varietals, originally discovered near the town of Wushwush in the Bench Maji zone. This lot comes from smallholder farmers in the Oromia region, where high altitudes and distinct terroir contribute to great clarity and complexity in the cup.
What sets this coffee apart is its extended 120-hour dry fermentation. After careful hand-sorting of only the ripest cherries, the coffee is sealed in anaerobic conditions for five days before being transferred to raised beds to dry. This process amplifies its vibrant fruit character, layered sweetness, and signature wine-like profile.
Produced by a cooperative of around 350 farmers, many of the Wush Wush trees are over 50 years old—yielding less coffee, but delivering exceptional quality.
A great choice for a balanced, almost boozy pourover/filter. On espresso, it opens up with rich berries and chocolate - perfect in a flat white.
