What you'll need
- V60 Dripper & Filter Paper
- Some Good Coffee
- Grinder (or pre-ground coffee)
- Electric Scales & Timer
- Kettle
- Something to brew into
Step 1
Prepare
- Turn your kettle on — if possible, heat to 200°F/93°C. If not, boil and let it rest for about 30 seconds.
- Place a paper filter in your V60 and rinse thoroughly with hot water. This removes any papery taste and preheats your server. Discard the rinse water.
- Add 20g of coffee (medium grind, similar to table salt) and gently shake to level the bed.
- Set your V60 and server on your scales and tare them.
Step 2
Pour
- Bloom: Start your timer and pour 50g of water, ensuring all grounds are saturated. Let it bloom for 45 seconds to release trapped gases.
- Pour One: Slowly pour in a circular motion until you reach 160g total. Give it a gentle swirl.
- Pour Two: When about 1cm of liquid remains, continue pouring until you reach 320g total. Swirl again to even out the coffee bed.
Step 3
Enjoy!
Let the water fully drain through, remove the V60, and swirl your coffee before serving. Enjoy your clean, balanced cup!
